Originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, Agota graduated from the University of Birmingham (UK) with a First Class Honours MEng degree in Civil and Energy Engineering.

Enjoying both subjects Agota has applied and enhanced her Civil Engineering knowledge during summer placements in a global firm of consulting engineers, while the passion for wind energy has led her to conduct a Master's research project on urban wind flow. The project entailed a 3D steady RANS CFD simulation for wind turbine positioning on the University Campus, and stimulated Agota’s interest in wind energy technology and its future steering her to pursue wind energy research after graduation.

Since September 2015 Agota is based at the University of Florence in Italy as ESR 4, where she is also enrolled on an international PhD course in Civil and Environmental Engineering. With her research she is aiming to advance hydro-aero-elastic numerical solvers, in order to improve the simulation of global coupled system response of an offshore wind turbine. The research is currently focusing on the modelling of higher order wave kinematics and fluid-structure interaction.
