Cansev studied Aerospace Engineering at Middle East Technical University, in Ankara. In 2015, she obtained a Master’s degree in turbulence, a joint program between Ecole Centrale de Lille, Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Aérotechnique de Poitiers and Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Poitiers, France. She pursued her thesis at Institut für Strömungsmechanik und Aerodynamik, Universität der Bundeswehr München and the topic of the thesis is “Characterization of Coherent Large Scale Flow Structures and Wall-Pressure Fluctuations in Turbulent Boundary Layers”.

Since she's mainly interested in aeroacoustics, she started her research career at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Belgium during 8 months. At this period, she worked experimentally on rotor noise extraction by in-duct aeroacoustic modal decomposition technique. In August 2015, she started her PhD in the Environmental and Applied Fluid Dynamics Department at VKI. Her PhD subject is the simulation techniques for the aeroacoustics of wind turbines.
